Where do I begin?

Everything begins with an empty sheet, or empty room... Strategy session #1 with a TV production company's management team. 9 very capable, talented and invested people, working together for 4-10 years. I started the session by asking them to introduce themselves through 2 statements, as if they don't know each other:
1. Tell us what is your job, what do you do at work? The simple presentations were eye opening. People around the table got insights to other managers' daily challenges in an intimate way they didn't have a chance to be exposed to before.
2. What is your dream? Where do you want to be in 3-5 years, personally and professionally?
Setting up these personal dreams and ambitions was a great start to lay down the company's strategy and next steps.
The interesting thing was that people came to me astonished to realize how little did they know about each other, although working together day by day for so long.
This was only the first step, but a quantum leap towards a successful strategy process.
